Michael Martin Kulikowski AIA
Michael is a licensed architect, urban designer, and founder of MMK Atelier, a Brooklyn-based studio offering design services across interiors, architecture, and professional consulting.
With over 12 years of experience, he brings a strategic, multidisciplinary approach to projects ranging from apartment styling and renovations to public realm planning and institutional design. His work spans all phases of design, from early concept through execution, and has been featured in CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg, Fast Company, Crain’s NY, and the Commercial Observer.

Michael is especially passionate about housing, sustainability, and creating spaces that foster meaningful interaction between people and the built environment.

Michael believes that good design is not just about aesthetics — it’s about intention, clarity, and care. He brings a hands-on, collaborative approach to every project, whether he's helping a neighbor style their first apartment, guiding a client through a complex renovation, or joining a firm as a freelance design lead. He’s known for his ability to connect the big picture with the fine grain and balancing vision with execution, strategy with creativity, and ambition with practicality.

When he’s not sketching layouts or working on design projects, you’ll likely find him biking around the city, chasing flavor adventures at new restaurants, photographing the urban landscape, or discovering music to fuel his next creative sprint.
